Cher Horowitz Is Heading Back To Beverly Hills As A Mother
As if we were ever going to stop hoping. A Clueless sequel series is officially moving forward at Paramount+, with Alicia Silverstone returning as the one and only Cher Horowitz.
Miss Silverstone—a friend to INYIM Media—will reprise the role that turned the 1995 film into a forever piece of pop-culture real estate. This time, Cher is no longer navigating high school hallways, questionable makeovers and freeway panic. She is a successful business owner and mother facing the completely different terror of raising a teenage daughter.
Paramount+ has ordered the continuation as a six-episode event series, bringing the project home to the studio behind the original film after an earlier version was dropped at Peacock.

The New Series Finds Cher Thirty Years After The Original
The sequel picks up approximately three decades after the events of Amy Heckerling’s film. Cher has grown into adulthood without losing the bright, determined confidence that made her such an enduring character, but parenting a teenager presents a social puzzle even she may not be able to reorganize with a color-coded wardrobe app.
The setup is smart because it does not simply ask Silverstone to recreate her teenage performance. It allows Cher to remain recognizably Cher while placing her on the other side of adolescent chaos.
Amy Heckerling Returns To Help Protect The Clueless DNA
Original Clueless writer-director Amy Heckerling is returning as an executive producer, alongside Silverstone and original film producer Robert Lawrence. Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Jordan Weiss remain attached to the project.
Production is expected to begin in Los Angeles in 2027. No additional returning cast members have been announced, so there is currently no confirmation that Paul Rudd, Stacey Dash, Donald Faison, Elisa Donovan, Breckin Meyer or Dan Hedaya will rejoin the world of Cher Horowitz.
Still, Silverstone’s return is the essential piece. Clueless has already lived through a television adaptation, stage musical, endless Halloween costumes and decades of quoted dialogue. Bringing Cher back as an adult gives the franchise a reason to exist beyond nostalgia alone.
