Jacob Tremblay continues choo-choo chugging through his latest promo train stop for his freshly out-the-oven new film Unabomber.

The Netflix leading debonair face spills what it was like working with co-star Russell Crowe, and what he pulled from stepping into the early life of Ted Kaczynski.

It all went down on a segment of CBS Mornings on September 17, where Tremblay talked career, Crowe and taking on the role of a young Kaczynski ahead of the film’s Netflix arrival.

In Unabomber, Tremblay plays the younger Ted Kaczynski while Crowe portrays Henry Murray, the Harvard psychology professor connected to the controversial experiments Kaczynski participated in as a student. The film also stars Shailene Woodley as FBI agent Joanne Miller and Annabelle Wallis as Christiana Morgan.

Director Janus Metz’s film cuts between the making and eventual capture of the Unabomber, with Tremblay anchoring the younger timeline. Rather than play Kaczynski as some oversized villain, Tremblay has said he wanted to approach him as a real person — leaning into the alienation and discomfort of a young man who did not quite fit.

That makes the Crowe pairing especially interesting. Tremblay is playing the student; Crowe is playing the authority figure looming over a particularly formative period in his life. During the CBS conversation, Tremblay gets into what he learned from working alongside the Oscar winner without turning the interview into the usual “legend taught me everything” promo fluff.

Unabomber lands on Netflix September 25, 2026, with Tremblay, Crowe, Woodley and Wallis leading the film’s dual-timeline take on Kaczynski’s early life and eventual pursuit.

For now, dig out Jacob’s latest promo-train stop and hear him talk through the role and what he learned working with Russell Crowe.
