Thee staff are grinding and hustling outside the Peacock Theater in downtown L.A. Long before the carpet fills with nominees and cameras, the venue has to become an awards-show set — with staging, barricades, production equipment and all the controlled chaos that audiences usually never see once the telecast starts.
This year’s main ceremony follows the September 5 and 6 Emmy ceremonies, which already handed out awards across dozens of craft, technical and performance categories. Monday is the big live broadcast, bringing the remaining marquee categories to NBC and Peacock from the same Peacock Theater complex.
And this is exactly why we love the before-the-show footage. The finished broadcast is polished within an inch of its life; the day before, it is workers, gear, cables, temporary builds and people moving at full speed to make that polish happen.

KTLA reporter Jillian Smukler takes viewers into that final-prep window as Peacock Theater gets ready for Monday night. Dig it all out below.
