Mets Prospect Mitch Voit Goes Viral For Looking So Handsome People Think He’s A.I.

New York Mets prospect Mitch Voit is going viral for being so handsome people are questioning whether he’s even real. Spoiler: Mitchy pooh is very much human — and climbing the Mets system.
Baseball Player Mitch Voit Is Vying For Mets Team While Serving Handsome That Aren’t A.I.

Mancrush Mitch Voit is very real — and so is that Mets rise.

A Mancrush feature this week is bestowed upon baseball player Mitch Voit, who is not merely vying for the Mets anymore — he is already one of the organization’s top prospects, climbing toward a future shot in Queens while serving handsome that apparently has people asking whether the pictures are a little catfishy or even A.I.

We’re glad to report the poised, up-and-coming New York Mets prospect is, in fact, that guy. The internet chatter exploded after Voit appeared at Citi Field this week, where online commenters joked that he looked A.I.-generated, like a Disney prince, or like somebody who should be leaving the stadium to shoot a cologne campaign instead of talking baseball.

And beneath the hairline discourse is an actual résumé. The Mets selected the Milwaukee native 38th overall in the 2025 MLB Draft out of the University of Michigan. He began 2026 with High-A Brooklyn, earned a promotion to Double-A Binghamton in late July, and finished the minor-league season batting .273 with 13 home runs, 59 RBI and 45 stolen bases across the two levels. MLB Pipeline currently lists him as the Mets’ No. 4 prospect.

His 2026 season also had the kind of turn scouts want to see. After a slower start, Voit hit .300 with an .866 OPS from May 24 through the end of the minor-league season. The Mets later named him their 2026 organizational Player of the Year, recognition that came before the latest round of social-media thirst turned his face into a second stat line.

Voit had already shown the organization why it liked him. In March, less than a year after being drafted, he received his first Spring Training start with the big-league club and collected a hit. By summer he had moved from Brooklyn to Binghamton, where his first Double-A series was enough to earn Eastern League Player of the Week honors.

So yes, there is more happening here than cheekbones. The 21-year-old infielder brings speed, positional flexibility and a bat that improved as the season went along. But this is still Mancrush, and we’re not going to pretend everyone arrived because they suddenly needed a deep scouting report on middle-infield development.

Charm and intelligence to go along with this living human ice cream sundae? We accept. Mitch Voit can call us anytime he needs towel refills in the locker-room showers.

That Barstool Sports clip is the one that sent the hairline conversation into orbit on September 14. The joke was simple: “This Mets prospect might have the greatest hairline in the history of hairlines.” From there, the “is this man A.I.?” reactions did the rest.

Dig out more Mitchy pooh right below. Long before this week’s viral moment, Binghamton had already put him in front of the camera to talk about his jump to Double-A and life inside the Mets system.
