Christina Aguilera just strolled onto the 20th Anniversary Gala of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and let the look do the talking.

Strutting a black Versace embroidered silk gown, Xtina brought the full femme-fatale drama to the Opéra de Monte-Carlo — plunging draped neckline, a flash of leg through the front slit and silver bead-and-crystal embroidery cutting through all that inky black. Wowing? Yes. Spectators gasping for air? We’ll allow it.

And this wasn’t some mystery custom hiding in a fashion vault. Versace currently lists the exact Embroidered Silk Gown for $7,790. The sleeveless design is cut from 100% silk, fitted through the body and finished with an open back, front slit and Baroque bead-and-crystal thread embroidery inspired by Gianni Versace’s “Ballets Russes” archives. That archival wink takes the look from simply glamorous to very Christina: polished, theatrical and still ready to make an entrance.

The entire look stayed in that old-school movie-star lane without turning costume-y. Christina paired the gown with Chopard jewelry and black pointed pumps, while her platinum hair fell in big polished curls. The clothes did plenty, but the styling knew exactly when to stop — which is why the gown, the neckline and Christina herself never had to fight each other for attention.

But Christina wasn’t in Monaco simply to serve a carpet moment. She was one of the evening’s featured performers, joining Plácido Domingo and Sister Sledge for the private September 18 celebration inside the Salle Garnier of the Opéra de Monte-Carlo. Monica Bellucci and Richard Gere attended as guests of honor, with Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene presiding over the anniversary evening.

The gala marked 20 years of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, established in 2006 to support environmental action. Its work centers on climate change, biodiversity and water resources, with particular attention to the Mediterranean Basin, polar regions and least developed countries. More than 830 projects have been supported worldwide across those two decades.

The evening also included a dinner by Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno and a fundraising auction led by Simon de Pury, making Christina’s performance part of a larger night built around raising support for the Foundation’s next chapter of environmental work.

Still, fashion-wise? Christina in Versace remains one of those combinations that simply makes sense. She has been circling the house’s high-glam vocabulary for decades, and this time the answer was less Y2K bombshell and more Monaco noir. Same Xtina instinct. Different room.

The entire look had every ingredient built to send the socials goo-goo gaga — but between the Versace archive reference, the gala performance and the Monte-Carlo setting, there was actually plenty behind the pretty.

Now dig out more from the Monaco arrivals as Christina Aguilera, Eva Herzigova and Monica Bellucci step into the gala spotlight.
