The timing could not be better. Practical Magic 2 just opened at No. 1 at the North American box office, bringing Sally and Gillian Owens back nearly three decades after the original while folding a new generation into the family spellbook. Bullock and Kidman return as the Owens sisters, with King and Williams joining the sequel as Sally’s daughters, Kylie and Antonia.

The game format is simple enough — pick one, no hedging, and let the answers expose you a little. With this foursome, though, the fun is less about the rules and more about watching the generations bounce off one another: Bullock and Kidman carrying all that original-film history while King and Williams bring the newer Owens energy into the room.
And there is something especially satisfying about seeing Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman doing press together again. The original Practical Magic arrived in 1998, became a cult favorite long after its initial theatrical run, and built the kind of fan loyalty that eventually made this sequel possible. Now the sisters are back, the next generation is in the mix, and the movie has already turned that nostalgia into a No. 1 opening.
The sequel itself expands the Owens family story with Kylie and Antonia stepping into their own magical inheritance, while Sally and Gillian return to the center of the family curse. Directed by Susanne Bier, the film reunites Bullock and Kidman with returning cast members Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing while bringing in King, Williams, Lee Pace and Xolo Maridueña.
