ABC officially kicked off season 30 on September 8, 2026, with Whoopi Goldberg, Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro all returning to the Hot Topics table. The premiere also looked back at Walters’ original vision for a daily conversation led by women with very different backgrounds and points of view.
During the celebration, Behar’s longevity got its own moment. Entertainment Tonight highlighted the fact that she has now logged more talk-show episodes than any other woman, while The View itself marked her 28 seasons on the program — a ridiculous amount of live television, side-eyes, punchlines and perfectly timed interruptions.
Behar’s history with the show has not been completely uninterrupted — she left as a full-time co-host in 2013 before returning in 2015 — but that only makes the final tally wilder. She has essentially watched The View evolve through generations of co-hosts, presidents, pop-culture meltdowns and enough table arguments to qualify as its own television genre.
Dig out thee co-hosts’ reaction and Behar’s signature quick-witted response below. A record is cute. A record with a punchline is much more Joy Behar.
