Beware Demons! Nicole Kidman’s Real-Life “Practical Magic” Is Basically a Freezer List
Nicole Kidman is drama and comedy wrapped into one cold-and-warm blanket. One of the great actresses of her generation has now given us another tiny piece of Nicole lore that may follow her forever.
While promoting Practical Magic 2 alongside longtime co-star Sandra Bullock, Kidman revealed that the witchy energy apparently does not stop when the cameras do.
During an interview conducted by Kidman’s niece, journalist Lucia Hawley, the conversation turned to the Kidman women and their family’s playful affinity for the magical side of life.
Hawley noted that their late matriarch, Janelle Ann Kidman, was born on a Friday the 13th. Then came the question we did not know we needed answered:

If Nicole Wants You Gone, Apparently the Freezer Gets Involved
Kidman’s first answer was actually much sweeter: love spells.
But then she offered the more delicious version.
If somebody has upset her, Kidman said she will write that person’s name on a piece of paper and put it in the freezer.
Bullock, naturally, needed clarification.
What exactly does that do?
Kidman’s answer: it “freezes them out.”
So beware, demon hater. Nicole Kidman is apparently out here helping Mother Karma with freezer space.
And this was not even a Nicole-only invention. Hawley added that her grandmother used to keep a list of names in the ice-cube area too.
At which point Sandra Bullock basically had the only reasonable response: suddenly, everything made sense.
Do Not Panic — Nicole Says You Can Come Out of the Freezer
Before anybody starts checking their kitchen appliances, Kidman also clarified that exile does not have to be permanent.
You can come out of the freezer.
The person apparently does not get an official memo when their sentence has been lifted, though. When Bullock asked whether you tell somebody they have been released from the ice, Kidman and Hawley said no.
According to Hawley, “they will feel it.”
Honestly, that may be more intimidating than the freezer.
Practical Magic 2 Makes the Timing Almost Too Perfect
The whole exchange arrived while Kidman and Bullock were promoting their return as Gillian and Sally Owens in Practical Magic 2, nearly three decades after the 1998 cult favorite.
The sequel brings the Owens family back together with returning stars Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest, while Joey King, Maisie Williams, Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod join the expanding magical family tree.
So no, we are not claiming Nicole Kidman is secretly hexing Hollywood from her kitchen.
But are we absolutely filing “Nicole Kidman keeps enemies in the freezer” under essential celebrity trivia?
Without hesitation.
Love spells first. Freezer second.
That sounds practical enough to us.
