This week on the Track Star Podcast, the popular online show is joined by none other than pop princess Zara Larsson. Always game, always charismatic, Zara pays a snazzy, jazzy visit to put her music knowledge to the test — and she does it with that signature mix of confidence and chaos we love.
From the jump, Zara sets the tone: “I’m Zara Larsson and… yeah.” The host echoes it right back — same energy today — as they joke about New Jersey, Las Vegas, Jamaica, dolphins, and even a lobster‑stained belt. Zara laughs: “That’s some Lush Life right there.”

The quiz kicks off with ABBA — naturally. Zara nails it instantly, then casually drops that she’s met all four members, been to their studio, and even cried at their hologram show: “I didn’t think I was going to be moved… and then I was just bawling.”
She keeps the streak going with Whitney Houston’s It’s Not Right But It’s Okay, gushing: “I love a storytelling song… it takes you on a journey.”
Then comes Janet Jackson’s Together Again. Zara recognizes the artist but admits she blanked on the title — and she knows her friends will clown her for it: “Usuzo will be really disappointed in me… he LOVES Janet Jackson.”
She talks about Mariah, Janet, and the mixed‑face painting in her friend’s studio — half Mariah, half Janet — and laughs at how intense the fandom is.
She lights up at Monica & Brandy’s The Boy Is Mine, calling it timeless. She IDs Amerie’s 1 Thing in seconds. She even gets tricked by A*Teens’ Upside Down, calling them “ABBA’s children” — which, honestly, is correct.

And yes — she misses a few. But context matters. Zara’s Swedish, and Black artists simply aren’t as culturally centered or historically revered in her home country, so some of these classics weren’t part of her upbringing. She’s discovering them now — and loving it. She’s got time to dive deeper. And knowing Zara, she absolutely will.
The sweetest moment? When she hears Deborah Cox’s Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here for the first time and immediately says: “Wow… I’m adding that to my playlist.”
By the end, they’re joking about naming the playlist “A Walk in New York”, bonding over music, and trading songs like old friends. Zara closes it out with pure charm: “It’s been so nice getting to know you. You’re the best.”
