Performance Choice of the Day: Zara Larsson Keeps Feeding Us the Lollapalooza Clips We Deserve

For the past 24 hours, Zara Larsson’s official YouTube has been going bananas in thee best way — churning out clip after clip from her recent Lollapalooza Chicago 2026 takeover. And naturally, our Performance Choice of the Day landed on one stretch that basically refuses to let the energy drop.

The clip is officially titled “WOW / Ain’t My Fault / Cheerchant / Pretty Ugly” and catches Zara running through a rapid-fire section of her July 31 set at Grant Park’s T-Mobile Stage. It is old-school hit power smashing directly into her newer Midnight Sun era, with a dancers’ break sitting right in the middle of the whole thing.

Zara’s Chicago set ran from about 6:20 to 7:15 p.m. and pulled from several eras at once. She opened with “Midnight Sun,” moved through “Can’t Tame Her,” a shortened take on Tyla’s “SHE DID IT AGAIN,” “I Would Like / Sundown” and “Hot & Sexy” before reaching the stretch featured here.

First comes “WOW”, still one of those deceptively sleek Zara records that sounds like it was designed to slide into a festival set without asking permission. Then she barrels straight into “Ain’t My Fault” — a song that has somehow only gotten rowdier with age.

The live arrangement does not just hit play on the album version either. Published setlists note a guitar outro on “WOW,” while “Ain’t My Fault” folds in elements from the song’s demo and Sexyy Red’s “Looking for the Hoes.” Zara and her crew are clearly treating these older songs like living material instead of museum pieces.

Then we get thee transition. Zara’s official upload calls that section “Cheerchant,” while published Lollapalooza setlists identify the moment between “Ain’t My Fault” and “Pretty Ugly” as a Dancers’ Roll Call. Whatever label we’re putting on it, the function is obvious: give the dancers their moment, keep the crowd locked and turn the stage into a full pop-show relay race.

And then “Pretty Ugly” comes stomping in. The Midnight Sun cut already has that strut built into its DNA, but in the festival set Zara pushed it with elements of the “Pretty Ugly – Girls Trip” remix, giving the sequence one more gear before moving on to “Stateside” and “Eurosummer.”

The full Chicago set was a reminder of just how much material Zara has to play with now. “Never Forget You,” “Lush Life” and “Symphony” all appeared later in the show, while “Midnight Sun” bookended the performance — a neat way of making the current era feel like the frame around everything that came before it.

And this version of Zara feels noticeably more in command of the machinery around her. Speaking to Vogue backstage at Lollapalooza, she reflected on the difference between playing the festival as a teenager and returning nearly a decade later, saying she now feels more involved in her artistry, songwriting and the creation of the show. You can see why she would say it: the transitions, dancers, arrangements and catalog choices all feel built to function as one continuous pop spectacle.

So yes, Zara, by all means keep emptying that Lollapalooza footage folder onto YouTube. We will be right here.
