We knew. KROQ finally caught up with Fontaines D.C.
Fontaines D.C. were literally in our neighborhood performing at KROQ’s In-N-Out Burger Sound Space in Los Angeles.
As longtime readers know, we’ve been spotlighting the boys since 2023, when they landed as a track selection in our INYIM Musique Digs Playlist, and again at their sold-out 2024 show at the Regent Theatre here in L.A.
So when “alternative” radio here in L.A. finally showcases them, it makes us laugh. Welcome aboard, kiddas.

The KROQ session was recorded on September 28 in front of a small crowd at the station’s Sound Space and arrived just days before the band’s fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, due October 16.
The filmed set pulls from Romance and Skinty Fia while making room for the new era with “Tongue.” The video runs through “Starburster,” “Jackie Down the Line,” “Bug,” “Big Shot,” “Tongue,” “Favourite” and “I Love You.”
Still, seeing Fontaines D.C. squeezed into a small radio studio is its own kind of pleasure. The room is intimate, the songs are anything but, and for those of us who were already listening before local “alternative” radio got the memo, there’s a little wink built into the whole thing.
