Talk about raining cats — one umbrella became an instant rescue net
A lady and her umbrella took matters into their own paws in Guangxi, China, springing into action after a helpless kitty suddenly fell from above while she was outside taking a photo.
The moment was captured on security footage in Liuzhou on Aug. 24, 2026. After spotting the cat above her, the woman reached out as it fell. She couldn’t quite catch the animal in her arms, but the open umbrella ended up breaking the fall before the kitty reached the ground.
And she wasn’t about to just walk away. The footage shows the woman immediately picking up the cat and checking on it. Reports say the animal belonged to a nearby family and had accidentally been left outside overnight.
Cat reflexes, human edition. The umbrella may not have been intended as a rescue device that morning, but it certainly earned its keep.
