Woopsies! They wanna know, who’s that girl?!
A Minnesota woman’s arrest mugshot is storming the internet because social media users keep doing the same double take: Cyrena Anne Quast bears what many are calling an uncanny and amusing resemblance to singer and actress Jennifer Lopez.
Quast, 35, was arrested on August 30 in Monticello, Minnesota, after a store employee accused her of stealing two double packs of power-tool batteries worth roughly $580. According to reporting based on the criminal complaint, the employee recognized her from an alleged theft at the same store two days earlier and alerted police. Quast reportedly admitted taking the batteries and was booked on a gross misdemeanor theft charge.

Jenny From the... Booking Desk?
A Minnesota booking photo, a $580 battery theft case and one very familiar-looking face sent the internet straight into J.Lo comparison mode.

The booking photo did the rest. Users immediately started comparing Quast to J.Lo, with the inevitable “Jenny From the Block” jokes mutating into jail-block variations all over social media. People, TMZ, Fox News and others picked up the story as the image spread.
And this is where we started side-eyeing the timeline. Quast was actually booked back on August 30, but the story suddenly went properly viral on September 17 — the very same day CBS and Paramount+ announced that the real J.Lo, formerly of the block, would bring THE JLO SHOW: Live in Las Vegas to television as a Thanksgiving special on November 26. Coincidence? We don’t think so, boo. To be clear, we have zero evidence the two things were coordinated; the timing is just deliciously suspicious in the way only pop-culture timing can be.
But there’s an AI twist to the viral mugshot story
Here’s where the story gets more 2026 than anybody asked for. Lead Stories reported that one widely shared version of Quast’s mugshot posted by the New York Post on X was AI-generated or manipulated to make her look even more like Jennifer Lopez. The fact-check outlet says the Wright County Sheriff’s Office supplied Quast’s authentic booking photo for comparison and that the doctored version omitted visible details including her nose and lip piercings.
So yes, there is a real Cyrena Anne Quast mugshot, and yes, people really did compare her to J.Lo — but one of the images helping the resemblance go mega-viral was apparently giving the internet a little artificial assistance. Woopsies, indeed.
Quast was released the day after her arrest, according to reports. The actual alleged theft is relatively small potatoes compared with the internet spectacle that followed, but that is also the strange little life cycle of a viral mugshot now: arrest, upload, meme, celebrity comparison — and apparently an AI fact-check before lunch.
