A fashion magical evening occurred. A legacy of such. Cardi B and Jennifer Lopez razzle-dazzled Vogue World: Milano as the fifth edition of Vogue’s globe-traveling fashion spectacle took over the historic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II on the opening night of Milan Fashion Week.
The 2026 show was built around Italy’s craftsmanship and the human touch in an increasingly technological age, moving from Renaissance references through the future of fashion. Cardi B Turns Vogue’s Own Covers Into the Dress Code
Cardi strutted in Versace, wearing a spring 2018 dress covered in pop-art renditions of vintage Vogue covers. She appeared in the show’s “Patterns” section, a celebration of Italy’s longtime love affair with unapologetically bold prints.
The look already carried history before it ever reached Cardi. Donatella Versace’s spring 2018 collection was created as a tribute to her late brother Gianni Versace, reaching back into the house archive and reworking imagery tied to some of his most recognizable eras. On Cardi, those archival references came roaring back under the Galleria’s glass-and-iron ceiling.
She finished the look with gold, diamond-encrusted Tiffany & Co. bone cuffs and Versace shoes — because a dress made for maximum print was never going to be sent out quietly.
Jennifer Lopez Goes Full Dolce Vita in Dolce & Gabbana
Jennifer Lopez arrived in Dolce & Gabbana, turning out a black tulle gown with sequin embellishment, sheer opera gloves and gleaming statement jewelry. It was pure Italian-cinema glamour — exactly the lane J.Lo has long understood when she and Dolce & Gabbana meet.
Then came the theatrical pivot. Lopez was ushered directly from the audience to center stage, where Italian tennis star Lorenzo Musetti met her and the pair twirled through the Galleria to mark the show’s move into eveningwear. One minute she was front row between Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana; the next she was part of the spectacle.
Vogue World has always blurred the line between runway, performance and celebrity cameo, but Milano gave that formula a particularly grand setting. The Galleria became the show itself: Italian fashion history underfoot, architecture overhead, and a parade that moved from archival references to new technology without losing sight of the hands that make the clothes.
