Woopsies! One Ohio courthouse escape attempt goes completely sideways
Woopsies! An Ohio courthouse brawl between a newly sentenced inmate and deputies escalated very, very quickly after authorities say the inmate broke free of his restraints, punched one deputy in the throat and made a run for the exit.
Timothy J. Reaggle, 20, of Wellsville, had just been sentenced to one year in prison at the Columbiana County Courthouse in Lisbon when the chaos kicked off. Surveillance footage released from the courthouse captures the sequence from hallway escort to attempted escape in real time.

According to authorities, Reaggle was being escorted out following sentencing when he managed to get out of his handcuffs and struck a deputy in the throat. He then pushed through another deputy, headed for the stairwell and kept moving toward the front doors.

The attempt ended just short of freedom. Authorities say an officer deployed a Taser near the courthouse entrance, bringing Reaggle down before he made it outside.
Two deputies were injured badly enough to suffer broken bones, according to Columbiana County Sheriff Brian McLaughlin. Both were taken to the hospital and later released.
Reaggle was already headed to prison in a separate case dating back to 2025. Now, authorities say he is expected to face additional charges tied to the courthouse incident, including felony escape and assault on a police officer.
And yes, the whole thing really does move that fast. One second it is a routine hallway escort. The next, everybody in the courthouse is suddenly sprinting.
