Eddie Murphy is an American entertainer who, alongside his landmark comedy and film career, built a genuine standalone recording catalog during the 1980s and 1990s. After early comedy albums, he released the pop album How Could It Be in 1985, featuring the Rick James-produced hit “Party All the Time,” followed by So Happy and Love’s Alright. Later music included the Michael Jackson collaboration “Whatzupwitu” and reggae singles such as “Red Light” and “Oh Jah Jah,” establishing a recording history beyond soundtrack performances.
