Tis the Season: Happy October From Betty Boop and Us

Tis the Season, Happy October Halloween 2026. From Betty Boop and us! Let’s transport back to some black-and-white vintage ghouling.
The throwback comes courtesy of Betty Boop’s Hallowe’en Party, the 1933 Fleischer Studios short that sends Betty straight into jack-o’-lanterns, costumes, music and one very unwanted party crasher.

Released in November 1933, the black-and-white short was produced by Fleischer Studios and directed by Dave Fleischer, with Max Fleischer producing. The roughly seven-minute cartoon finds Betty preparing a Halloween party before a hulking gorilla crashes the celebration and gets a spooky welcome of his own.
More than 90 years later, the short still has exactly the kind of rubber-hose weirdness that makes early Betty Boop cartoons feel made for Halloween: elastic movement, surreal gags, grinning pumpkins and just enough menace to keep things delightfully strange.
So yes, October has officially arrived at INYIM. Consider this our invitation to start thee vintage ghouling early.
