On this week in Rock and Roll History 1979, Blondie‘s Heart of Glass goes platinum and number one in numerous countries tossing the New York City band into Pop Super-stardom.

The song which was originally recorded as a light ditty entitled ‘Once I had a Love’ was reconstructed by producer Mike Chapman who created the perfect mix that would make the band, the song and the face of Blondie Iconic.

We pay tribute to a band and song that has influenced the world with their unconventional artistry doing so with a lead vocalist that changed the way woman were allowed to be seen.
