Robert De Niro Turns FCC Chairman Brendan Carr Into a Kimmel Mob Boss

Jimmy Kimmel brought out Robert De Niro for a surprise bit in which the actor played FCC Chairman Brendan Carr as a mob-boss-style enforcer during Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
The sketch played off Kimmel’s ongoing jokes about the FCC and President Donald Trump, with De Niro’s exaggerated Carr character arriving for what he called a “routine inspection” and pressuring the host over his jokes about the president. The segment was comedy, with De Niro portraying Carr rather than appearing as himself.

Kimmel also riffed on Trump’s push to call A.I. “super intelligence,” turning the monologue into another round of political satire before the De Niro bit took over.
And because the show was in Brooklyn, Guillermo finally made his way into the New York action too, adding one more comic beat to a packed monologue.
