Tuesday’s Come Thru Vocals is a double dose of LA Priest with “Ever No” and “Into The Sky.” Both tracks point toward his new album Into The Sky, due August 28 on Domino, but they do it from slightly different angles — one more wiry and off-kilter, the other stretching toward the bigger picture.

“Ever No” has that familiar LA Priest looseness where funk, art-pop and something slightly sideways all seem to coexist without asking permission. The vocal stays cool and unforced while the production keeps shifting underneath it, making the track feel spontaneous without ever sounding unfinished.

The title track opens things up further. “Into The Sky” keeps LA Priest’s strange-pop instincts intact, but there’s a wider, more spacious pull to it — less about arriving at a neat payoff and more about letting the groove, vocal and texture keep drifting upward together.
