Flashback Friday Meets Come Thru Vocals for One 1969 Dreamsicle

Flashback Friday X “Come Thru Vocals!” come together for one special showcase. Starring Julio Iglesias performing the dreamsicle number “Mis recuerdos” on Tele-ritmo, circa 1969.
And what a time capsule it is. Long before Julio became one of the most internationally recognized Spanish-language singers on the planet, “Mis recuerdos” was part of his earliest recorded chapter — appearing on his 1969 debut album, Yo canto.

Originally released in 1969, Yo canto introduced the world to an artist still at the very beginning of what would become a massive career. “Mis recuerdos” sits on the album alongside songs including “La vida sigue igual,” “Tenía una guitarra,” “Yo canto” and “Chiquilla.”
The recording itself clocks in at just under three minutes, with Iglesias credited as songwriter and José Nieto credited as arranger on the original release. It is tender, direct and wonderfully unhurried — the kind of old-school vocal performance that makes our Come Thru Vocals alarm start flashing immediately.

There is something especially charming about seeing Julio this early in the story. No decades of superstardom behind him yet, no need for grand spectacle — just the song, the voice and that young performer learning exactly how little he needed to do to hold a room.
Dreamsicle indeed. Press play and transport yourself back to the beginning.
