Tinashe Takes “Crash Out” Straight to the Basketball Court
R&B/pop princess Tinashe brought thee razzle-dazzle to Amazon Music and did exactly what the song title ordered: she crashed out. The performer stepped into Amazon Music presents: In the Paint for a live rendition of her latest single “Crash Out,” turning the series’ basketball-court setup into her own little pop arena.
The August 20 performance arrived as part of Amazon’s WNBA programming, following Prime Video coverage of the Indiana Fever vs. Dallas Wings and Atlanta Dream vs. Los Angeles Sparks matchups. Because apparently basketball was not enough cardio for one evening.

In the Paint is Amazon Music’s performance series built around the collision of live music and basketball. Previous editions have dropped artists into a cinematic court-side setting as part of Prime’s postgame coverage, and Tinashe is an especially obvious fit for the format: choreography, precision, attitude and absolutely no fear of making the floor part of the show.
For this edition, “Crash Out” was the broadcast performance, while Amazon also made a separate performance of “Too Easy” available through the Amazon Music app. Both songs are part of the runway toward Tinashe’s next album, Popstar, arriving September 25, 2026.
“Crash Out” Is Tinashe Leaning Into the Mess
If “Nasty” helped turn Tinashe’s last run into one giant internet wink, “Crash Out” comes at online life from a much more irritated angle. The track carries a crunk-leaning pulse while Tinashe pokes at digital-age obsession, haters, attention and the increasingly strange business of existing where everybody has an opinion and a Wi-Fi connection.
That makes the In the Paint presentation a smart match. “Crash Out” is not a sit-on-a-stool-and-stare-at-the-floor song. It wants movement. It wants impact. It wants the sort of performance where Tinashe can make a controlled routine look like she decided what to do about three seconds before the beat hit.
Popstar Is Getting Closer
The bigger story here is the album rollout. Tinashe has been steadily laying the track for Popstar, with “Crash Out” and “Too Easy” among the songs already pulling the curtain back on the project.
Her official site has the album locked for September 25, with pre-orders and limited-edition physical releases already in motion. Amazon Music is also listing Popstar as a forthcoming 2026 release, while “Crash Out” remains among Tinashe’s current top-streamed tracks on the service.
