San Francisco officials remind visitors that coyote behavior shifts during pupping season — and dogs won’t be allowed in parts of the Presidio until pups mature.

Friday Furry is in full effect as coyote behavior is often misunderstood during pupping season, according to San Francisco Animal Care and Control spokesperson Deb Campbell.
To protect both wildlife and pets, visitors won’t be able to bring dogs — on or off leash — into certain areas of the Presidio until this past fall, giving coyote pups the space and safety they need as they grow confident enough to venture out on their own.
