AMERICAN HOSTAGE is set in the 1970s and tells the harrowing true story of Fred Heckman, played by Hamm, who reprises his role from the narrative podcast series of the same name.
Heckman is a beloved Indianapolis WIBC radio reporter who is thrust into the middle of a life-or-death crisis when hostage-taker Tony Kiritsis demands to be interviewed on his popular radio news program.
Giovanni Ribisi plays Kiritsis, who calls into Heckman’s show to announce that he has a 12-gauge shotgun aimed at a man’s neck.
