‘Once Again! Another Knock off… but this time Steve Maddens after Pierre Hardy’s first Gap collection which came out several years ago.
‘Fashionista’ reports that the brown sandal on the left was pretty much sported by everyone that summer in New York. The cost, about 90 dollars, which apparently is pretty dirt cheap considering their Pierre Hardy. The shoes themselves were any age appropriate, which also means they sold out within weeks after their release. Here’s is an interesting tid-bit Kiddas… although Gap continued to put them in their print ads, they weren’t for sale anymore.
All the while, Steve Madden’s doing what he does best, which is make decisions based on the sole outlook of another designers! Which is never ok ladies and gentlemen. Hey Steve, lay off the copying already. Although Steve HAD been making shoes that have been staying away from the original design and enough to keep fashionista and us from breathing down his synthetic neck (maybe its also because of two lawsuits he’s garnered as of now). But one can’t speak to soon sometimes, since Madden’s distributing a perfect carbon copy of Hardy’s Gap sandal, and to top it all off with great irony, upcharging more, too!!! Folks sometimes…
