The medley originally dropped in March 1969 as part of their album The Age of Aquarius, and it went on to become one of their signature cultural momentsโ€”topping the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks and winning Record of the Year at the 1970 Grammys. (This televised performance is peak lateโ€‘โ€™60s sparkle: harmonies tight, outfits bold, and that unmistakable sunshineโ€‘soul glow.)
