Mark your calendars on us: the countdown is officially on for Dancing With the Stars Season 35, and the people holding the paddles — plus the two keeping the whole ballroom moving — are already sounding very ready to get back to work.
Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, Derek Hough, Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro stopped by Good Morning America to preview the new season, tease what is coming and remind everybody just how much momentum this long-running glitter machine still has.

Season 35 opens with two nights of Dancing With the Stars
The new season premieres with back-to-back episodes on Tuesday, September 15 and Wednesday, September 16 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, with episodes available the next day on Hulu.
So yes, this is not a soft little one-night return. The ballroom is opening with a two-night launch.
The judges say this season already feels more energized
Derek Hough told GMA that viewers can expect what they already know and love about the show, but with an especially energized cast and group of pros heading into Season 35.
Hough knows both sides of this ballroom better than most. He started as a professional dancer before moving behind the judges’ table in Season 29, where he now sits alongside longtime judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.
Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro are back to run the room
Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro return as co-hosts, with Ribeiro pointing to the celebrity-and-pro pairings as one of the ingredients that keeps the show working season after season.
Julianne, meanwhile, teased a theme night with especially fun fashion coming this season. She did not spill the whole surprise — rude, but understandable — so apparently we will have to tune in like everybody else.
The full Dancing With the Stars Season 35 cast is next
As of the September 1 preview, several celebrity contestants had already been announced, including Jackson Olson, Maura Higgins and Ciara Miller.
The bigger reveal arrives Wednesday, September 2 on Good Morning America, when the full Season 35 cast and pairings are set to come into focus.
Translation: this countdown is about to get considerably louder.
