John Lennon was an English singer-songwriter, musician and co-founder of The Beatles whose work profoundly changed popular music. Born in Liverpool, he became one of the defining songwriters of the 1960s before beginning a major solo career with John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band. Albums including Imagine, Mind Games, Walls and Bridges and Double Fantasy produced enduring songs such as “Imagine,” “Jealous Guy,” “Mind Games” and “Watching the Wheels.” His solo work combined confessional writing, political engagement, rock and experimental ideas with an unusually direct vocal and lyrical style.
A newly uncovered John Lennon home demo titled “Little Girl” is set to appear on The Beatles’ expanded Rubber Soul release, more than 60 years after it was recorded.
