Paolo Borle Makes “Under the Skin” Look Dangerously Easy

Dreamboat alert. Paolo Borle lands back on our model radar in Under the Skin, a new Behind the Blinds editorial photographed by Laurent Humbert — and yes, we are still getting a little Troye Sivan’s impossibly hot brother energy from him.

The actual fashion story gives us much more than a pretty face, though. Arnaud Klein handles the fashion, moving Borle through a wardrobe that includes Celine Homme, Fendi, Gucci, Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello, Acne Studios, Loewe, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Jacquemus, Cartier, Ami Paris and Charlotte Chesnais. It is polished, expensive-looking and just undone enough to keep everything from feeling too precious.

Paolo Borle slips into Behind the Blinds’ “Under the Skin” with Laurent Humbert behind the camera and a wardrobe stacked with serious menswear names.

Humbert keeps the focus on Borle’s face, proportions and ease in front of the lens, while Klein’s styling shifts the temperature from stripped-back knitwear to sharper designer statements. There is a dreamy quality to the whole set, but not a sleepy one — Borle knows exactly where the camera is, and the camera clearly knows what it has.

The rest of the team is equally locked in: Frederic Kebbabi on hair, Steven Canavan on make-up, with Michael Marson as editor-in-chief and thanks to YKMN Production. Borle is represented here by Bananas Models.

We could keep explaining why he works, but the gallery makes the case faster. Fresh face, high-fashion bone structure, a little softness around the edges and enough range to keep every frame from becoming the same pretty-boy pose. INYIM approved.
