Gloria Estefan is a Cuban-American singer-songwriter whose work with Miami Sound Machine and as a solo artist helped transform Latin pop into a global mainstream force. Born in Havana and raised in Miami, she broke internationally in the 1980s with “Conga,” “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You” and “Anything for You.” Her solo catalog spans English-language pop and dance hits as well as landmark Spanish-language projects such as Mi Tierra, combining Afro-Cuban rhythm, balladry and polished pop across five decades of recording.
