Wasia Project slips into the night and lets desire take over

It’s time to crack open thee new-music playlist with one of our long-running favorites, Allow Us To Introduce You To — and today the doors swing open for Wasia Project.
The London sibling duo of Will Gao and Olivia Hardy have been building their own little musical universe since 2019, pulling classical training, jazz instincts, cinematic piano-pop and increasingly electronic production into one very hard-to-box-in project. Their latest move, “Vogue,” is where that universe gets spectacularly shiny, saucy and ready for the dance floor.
Released on August 10, 2026, “Vogue” is the second track on Wasia Project’s forthcoming 12-song debut album, Nocturne, arriving September 18 via LAOLAO Records under exclusive license to AWAL Recordings. And no, the album is not already out just yet — “Vogue” is one of the final doors opening before the full nighttime journey arrives.

When we first heard thee drip of “Vogue,” it became an instant replay. Ethereally electronic. Up-tempo. Euphoric. Immersive. Raw yet sensual. There is movement everywhere, but the production never turns into anonymous club mush. It still sounds unmistakably like two musicians who know what a piano, a string arrangement and a dramatic pause can do.
Wasia Project describe the song as club-inspired and centered on surrendering to desire instead of resisting it. The whole thing lives in that charged moment when attraction stops being theoretical: rooms feel different, glances carry too much electricity and the night suddenly seems capable of going absolutely anywhere.
That makes “Vogue” a natural fit inside Nocturne. The album is built as a journey from dusk toward dawn, moving between introspection, isolation, connection and dance-floor release. Across its 12 tracks, Hardy and Gao fold their classical backgrounds into club-adjacent electronics, soul and cinematic piano-pop — less genre hopping for the sake of showing off and more a refusal to stay inside one room all night.

The track also arrives at an interesting moment for the siblings. Will Gao is already familiar to plenty of viewers as Tao Xu in Netflix’s Heartstopper, but Wasia Project has never felt like somebody’s acting side project with a microphone attached. Olivia and Will grew up playing music, trained classically and have spent years letting the project stretch from intimate piano-led material into something darker, bigger and far more kinetic.
“Vogue” makes that evolution obvious. Olivia’s vocal sits inside a pulsing electronic framework while the arrangement keeps enough air around her to make the sensuality feel close rather than overproduced. The beat pushes forward; the atmosphere keeps widening. By the time it settles into its groove, resistance is pretty much useless.

And with Nocturne still waiting for its September 18 curtain call, “Vogue” does exactly what a late-album-preview single should do: it gives us a complete rush on its own while making the larger record feel suddenly much closer.
