Via Hollywood Records. Gomez worked with Rock Mafia duo Tim James and Antonina Armato. And there’s another name tucked into the album credits that deserves a louder mention: Fefe Dobson.
Dobson co-wrote the album’s lead single, “Round & Round,” with Kevin Rudolf, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Andrew Bolooki and Jeff Halavacs. Rudolf later explained that L.A. Reid had asked him to work with Dobson, and the group wrote “Round & Round” for her before deciding it leaned too pop/dance for her. Rudolf then pitched the song elsewhere, and it ultimately landed with Selena Gomez & the Scene.
That makes the Fefe connection especially fun, but one distinction matters: we could not verify “Round & Round” as a track from Dobson’s shelved Sunday Love album. Sources specifically identify Gomez’s earlier “As a Blonde” as a Sunday Love song, while “Round & Round” is described separately as a later song originally written for Dobson.
