Aussie rock superstars Amyl and The Sniffers have just dropped their debut live album, Truth or Consequence (Live from El Coyote) — and instead of simply bottling the band’s usual full-throttle attack, they flipped the whole thing sideways.
Recorded and filmed on April 28, 2025 inside the famed El Coyote restaurant in our own neck of the woods here in Los Angeles, the set puts their signature speed, sweat and chaos on pause just enough to let a different version of the band come through.
Not softer, exactly. More like country-fried, stripped back and smoky around the edges.

A Live Album That Refuses to Just Recreate the Show
Truth or Consequence was released on September 4, 2026 and follows the concert film of the same name. The 13-track set reimagines familiar material in a more country-influenced form, letting the songs breathe in ways they rarely get to during the band’s usual high-velocity live sets.
The tracklist includes “Big Dreams,” “Hertz,” “Bailing on Me,” “Jerkin’,” “Fella,” “Chewing Gum,” “Facts,” “Caltex Cowgirl,” “Snakes” and “Me and the Girls (Are Drunk at the Pig Farm)”, alongside two previously unreleased songs and a cover of Australian country legend Slim Dusty’s “Lights on the Hill.”
And frontwoman Amy Taylor never disappoints. Even with the arrangements pulled back, she still sounds like she could kick the doors off the room if she wanted to. That tension is what makes the record work: the band is clearly restraining itself, but only just.
El Coyote Was the Perfect Wrong Place for the Right Band
The whole thing was captured by longtime collaborator John Angus Stewart in front of an intimate crowd that reportedly got rowdier as the night went on. And honestly, staging a semi-country Amyl and The Sniffers set inside one of Los Angeles’ most recognizable old-school Mexican restaurants is exactly the kind of left turn we want from them.
The setting strips away some of the distance between band and audience. Instead of a festival field or packed club with Taylor flying across a stage, this feels more like somebody invited the Sniffers over, moved the furniture and forgot to tell the neighbors.
