Amyl and the Sniffers are a Melbourne punk band fronted by Amy Taylor, with Declan Mehrtens, Gus Romer and Bryce Wilson. Formed in the mid-2010s, the group built a reputation on short, explosive songs and ferocious live shows before releasing their self-titled debut in 2019. Comfort to Me and Cartoon Darkness broadened their raw pub-rock attack with bigger hooks and sharper social observation, while the band’s live intensity has made them one of Australia’s most visible contemporary rock exports.
