In our always rousing, revered and long-running segment, “Allow Us To Introduce You To,” allow us to introduce you to thee songbird Paloma Morphy — though judging by the year Miss Morphy has been having, introductions may not be necessary for much longer.

Miss Paloma Morphy is back with the euphoric, yum-single “si la ves”, a sleek alt-pop cut that lands somewhere between a late-night confession and a full-body synth rush. It is glossy without being sterile, emotional without getting stuck in its feelings, and just funky enough to make the heartbreak go down easier.

Released August 27, 2026 through Sony Music México, the track clocks in at just under three minutes and arrives as Morphy keeps pushing beyond the world she built on her 2025 debut album Au.

A Latin GRAMMY win later, Morphy is clearly not slowing down

Morphy came into 2026 with a much bigger spotlight after already having a Latin GRAMMY for Best New Artist under her belt. That distinction matters here because “si la ves” does not sound like an artist trying to repeat the thing that got her noticed. It sounds like someone stretching outward and revving up whatever comes next.

Her debut Au already established her as one of the more interesting voices moving through Spanish-language alternative pop, blending melodic pop instincts with moodier, less predictable production choices. “si la ves” keeps that instinct intact, but turns up the polish and the pulse.

“si la ves” has synths, bass and a little emotional venom

The single jamme was co-written and produced with Pablo Stipicic, whose credits here include bass, guitar, keyboards and programming. That helps explain the poptastic funk production: synthesizers, dramatic basslines and enough movement to keep the whole thing tightly wound without ever feeling overcrowded.

There is a dramatic bassline underneath the whole thing, bright synth work moving around it, and Morphy keeping the vocal cool enough that the production can do some of the sweating for her. It is pop, yes, but pop with a little dirt under the manicure.

The lyric centers on disillusionment and emotional clarity — that point where being hurt starts turning into finally seeing the situation for what it was. Instead of collapsing into the sadness, Morphy lets the song move forward. That contrast is what makes it hit.

This sounds less like a one-off and more like a new chapter

“si la ves” has also been positioned as the opening move toward Morphy’s next studio era. After the success of Au, that makes this release especially interesting: she is not merely extending the debut, she is setting up whatever comes after it.

And if this is the temperature check for the new studio LP, we are listening. The song has enough immediacy to work as a stand-alone pop moment, but enough personality to make us want to hear what kind of record Miss Morphy is revving up around it.

Without further ado, get into thee Paloma Morphy groove. Press play on the inescapable “si la ves” — exactly the kind of euphoric yum, left-of-center pop treat this series exists to catch before everybody else starts yelling about it.
