“Allergic” showcases what slowly but surely we’ve been talking about for years now. Rock is not dead. It’s making it’s way back eventually. Even though it has already skipped a generation or two. Missing the 2010s and now in the mid 2020s it’s looking bleak.
Now we don’t mean the indie rock, dance punk, post-alt sound. Which is continually thriving and evolving. Those genres which have continue to pulsate and produce new groovy artists and tunes.
However we’re talking about that mainstream 90s Alt KROQ-esque, 70s-80s classic rock/ hair metal, 50s rock n roll. Even when it comes to the pop/rock genre. We’ve had many false starts from Yungblud, Gracie Abrams, Harry Styles, to Sombr.
However step in Claire Rosinkranz. Which “Allergic” isnt as hard and more light but nonetheless it contains high-voltage, guitar-fueled pulsating rock vibration. We atually learned a new phrase expression thanks to Ron Dante’s appearnce on Billy Corgain’s podcast. Bill flat out asked Ron what he thought the “Bubblegum Pop” labeling. Without hesitation mister Dante quipped saying, “It’s great, it’s just bubblegum-rock not pop.
We would declare Claire Rosinkranz “Allergic” the new wave of Bubble-gum rock of 2026. Oh and don’t quite listening to her previous single “City”
