Today’s “Flashback Friday” features thee 1970’s Banana stereo player.

This unusually shaped “E-lectric Banana” Stereo Phono was released in 1973. A portable, all-in-one record player with a built-in speaker & turntable, all in a banana-shaped case.

Sold mainly through mail-order catalogs, the look was inspired by Andy Warhol’s banana artwork for the Velvet Underground.
