The five legends have teamed up for “Gonna Be You,” a new song written by Warren for the upcoming Paramount Pictures comedy 80 for Brady. The single is set to arrive January 20, 2023 via R.A.F./BMG.

80 for Brady is inspired by the true story of four best friends who take a trip to Super Bowl LI to see then-New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady play. The film stars Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno and Sally Field, with Brady appearing as himself.
Warren said she wanted “Gonna Be You” to celebrate the friendship at the center of the film. The title sparked the idea of bringing together singers strongly associated with the 1980s — except this lineup is much bigger than one decade. Parton, Carlisle, Lauper, Estefan and Harry together is basically its own awards-show finale.
According to the announcement, everyone Warren approached said yes. Naturally. If Diane Warren calls and says Dolly Parton, Debbie Harry, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan and Belinda Carlisle are already in the group chat, you do not suddenly become difficult to reach.
