Belinda Carlisle is an American singer who first became famous as lead vocalist of The Go-Go’s before building a major solo pop career. A key figure in Los Angeles new wave, she co-founded The Go-Go’s in the late 1970s and helped take Beauty and the Beat to No. 1. Her solo breakthrough followed with “Mad About You,” “Heaven Is a Place on Earth,” “I Get Weak,” “Circle in the Sand” and “Leave a Light On.” She has continued recording and touring across subsequent decades.
