As you already know… when we recommend something on INYIM, you better recognize. Because once our name is on it, it becomes your new favorite something in no time. The rest is history.

But here’s what makes this recommendation even sweeter: Divine Chocolate is a farmer‑owned chocolate company. Cocoa farmers from the Kuapa Kokoo cooperative in Ghana voted in 1997 to create their own chocolate company — and Divine became that company. Today, those farmers receive a Fairtrade price, a premium for their cocoa, seats on the board, and a share of the profits. It’s chocolate built on dignity, ownership, and real representation.

On the other side of this partnership is Ecotricity, the world’s first green electricity company. Founded in 1996, Ecotricity’s mission is to transform how energy is made and used in Britain. Their work centers on reducing carbon emissions and supporting ethical, sustainable business models — which is why they power Divine Chocolate and amplify its farmer‑owned mission.

Divine also works with farmers in São Tomé, an island in the Gulf of Guinea where smallholder farmers face some of the harshest climate‑change pressures. Through this partnership, farmers receive support, training, and new grafting techniques to help sustain their crops and livelihoods.

So get your grocery carts or bags ready — it’s time for some Divine Chocolate.
