Bardem has said the feeling was still “very alive” when they reconnected, and their friendship finally became romantic. The pair kept the relationship famously private, making relatively few public declarations even as they became one of cinema’s most recognizable couples.
Then Came Marriage, Two Kids And More Films Together
Bardem and Cruz married in July 2010 in a private ceremony in the Bahamas. They later welcomed two children, son Leo and daughter Luna, while continuing to work together selectively on films including The Counselor, Loving Pablo and Everybody Knows.
What makes their story endure is not that they met on a movie set. Plenty of actors do. It is that the first meeting happened years before either of them knew what the relationship would eventually become.
