We first came to know rising LA comedian Kat Bird through Bobby Lee’s comedy orbit, and she has been steadily turning up everywhere worth paying attention to since. Now Bird pulls up a chair with Jiaoying Summers for episode 156 of Tiger Mommy, where the conversation swerves through sagging, winking, Gen Z corporate language and the kind of little social rules that become much funnier once somebody actually says them out loud.

The episode is titled “Sagging is a Privilege w/ Kat Bird” and runs just over an hour. Summers introduces Bird as an up-and-coming LA comedian, but Bird is already building a résumé that stretches well beyond a single podcast appearance: she performs regularly around Los Angeles, has toured with comics including Bobby Lee, Marc Maron, Andrew Santino, Theo Von and Iliza Shlesinger, and hosts her own Kat Bird Pod.

On Tiger Mommy, Bird and Summers do not need much of a runway. The conversation bounces quickly between observations about how people present themselves, how younger workers communicate in corporate spaces, and why something as small as a wink can suddenly become a whole social event. It is exactly the kind of loose, personality-first podcast chemistry that works best when nobody is forcing the conversation toward a neat little theme.

Then comes the episode’s headline bit: sagging being a privilege. The phrase sounds ridiculous enough to stop you on its own, which is why it works so well as the title. Bird and Summers use it as a springboard into the strange ways style, confidence, body language and social permission all overlap — less lecture, more two comedians noticing the absurd hierarchy hiding inside everyday behavior.

Bird’s comedy works especially well in that lane because she can make a throwaway observation sound like something she has been quietly collecting evidence for all week. Her own site describes her as a born-and-raised LA comedian, actress and podcast host, and she has become a regular presence at rooms including The Comedy Store, Hollywood Improv and Laugh Factory. Earlier this year, she also released a Don’t Tell Comedy special, another marker that her “rising comedian” tag is starting to feel less like prediction and more like current events.

Summers is an ideal match for that energy. Tiger Mommy is built around her willingness to take comedy, relationships, sex, motherhood, career and culture wherever the conversation wants to go, and Bird slots naturally into that format. There is no need to over-package the guest or pretend every tangent is profound. Sometimes the best podcast moment is simply two funny people realizing they have both been thinking about the same weird thing.

And episode 156 has plenty of those. Winking becomes suspicious. Corporate language gets translated back into human. Sagging somehow becomes socioeconomic analysis. By the time the hour is up, Bird has done what a good podcast guest should do: make you want to hear what she says the next time somebody hands her a microphone.
