Netflix describes the six-episode series as the story of a small coastal town terrorized by a mysterious sea creature, forcing residents to fight for their families, their community and a vanishing way of life. The series was created by Jesse McKeown and filmed in Newfoundland, Canada.

Below arrives on Netflix October 8, 2026 — basically perfect timing for the spooky, frightful Halloween season.

The new trailer keeps the creature itself mostly in the shadows and leans into dread, stormy isolation and the increasingly bad feeling that whatever is happening offshore is not staying offshore for long.
