Coyote finally got his day — so we’re ranking the icons
For years, Coyote vs. Acme felt like one of those Hollywood stories that would end with a tax write-off and a giant “what if?” Instead, Wile E. Coyote finally made it to theaters — and audiences actually showed up.
The film opened at No. 2 at the North American box office with roughly $15.5 million, giving distributor Ketchup Entertainment its biggest opening weekend to date. That does not magically erase the movie’s reported $70 million production cost, but after Warner Bros. once planned to shelve the completed film entirely, simply seeing the Coyote land this kind of theatrical comeback feels like one very satisfying little “meep meep” to the system.
