Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman are back on the front lines as Paramount+ unleashes the official trailer for Lioness Season 3.
The Taylor Sheridan espionage thriller returns on Sunday, August 2, with Joe’s latest assignment collapsing the comfortable distance between covert warfare and home. This time, the danger does not simply follow the Lioness team across borders—it begins circling the people and private lives they have been trying to protect.
Paramount+ describes the new season as a collision of hidden networks, foreign operatives and personal betrayals. Patterns begin appearing where they should not, names disappear and familiar paths rearrange themselves as Joe tries to determine who is moving against her.

The trailer keeps the pressure tight around Joe, whose balancing act between duty and family has always been one of the show’s sharper tensions. Season 3 appears ready to stop treating those worlds as separate problems. When the war reaches every corner of her life, there may be no clean place left to retreat.
Kidman returns as Kaitlyn Meade, with Michael Kelly back as Byron Westfield. Together, they guide Joe through a mission built around enemies operating in the shadows rather than conveniently announcing themselves across a conference table.
The returning ensemble also includes Morgan Freeman, Laysla De Oliveira, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Genesis Rodriguez, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill and Hannah Love Lanier. Ian Bohen joins the series for the new season, adding another familiar Sheridan-world face to a cast already built for high-level staring contests and classified tension.
What has kept Lioness from becoming just another parade of tactical gear is the personal damage beneath the operations. Joe can command a team, survive the field and read a threat, but the series keeps returning to the cost of bringing that life back through her own front door.
Season 3 looks prepared to push that pressure point until something gives. The official setup calls this the Lioness team’s most personal assignment yet, and the trailer sells a season in which loyalties are less stable, the enemy is harder to map and Joe’s usual ability to compartmentalize may finally stop working.
Created and written by Sheridan, Lioness is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios. Saldaña and Kidman also serve as executive producers, meaning the women leading the mission remain firmly involved behind the scenes as well as in front of the camera.
