Emmys 2026 Spotted: Marcello Hernández Shoots His Dinner Shot

Marcello Hernández spotted Zendaya and “Spider-Man” and decided playing it cool was officially over. While presenting at the 78th Emmy Awards, the Saturday Night Live comedian turned what should have been a straightforward category introduction into one of the night’s funniest audience callouts.
Hernández was presenting Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series when he started greeting people in the room he might not get to see later. Harrison Ford got an invite first. Then came Zendaya.

“You’re a beast and you’re amazing,” Hernández told Zendaya before admitting he had wanted to play it cool and simply could not. Then came the offer: he wanted Zendaya and Spider-Man over for dinner at his house. Tom Holland was sitting right there, and both of them cracked up.
That was the whole charm of it. No elaborate awards-show bit, no giant setup — just Marcello using his first Emmys appearance to say hello to people he apparently had absolutely no intention of pretending not to recognize.
He kept the roll call going too, greeting Oscar Isaac — whose real surname is Hernández — and joking that they might be cousins, before giving Matthew McConaughey his own shoutout. The segment landed because Hernández treated the room less like television royalty and more like the world’s fanciest family function.
Zendaya, meanwhile, was at the ceremony as an Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series nominee for Euphoria. But for this moment, the nomination could wait. Marcello had dinner plans to pitch.
