The Ocean makes its final call before Moana sails into theaters.

Disney has unleashed thee final sneak peek of its soon-to-be-released live-action reimagining of Moana.
The new Final Trailer sends Catherine Lagaʻaia beyond the reef as Moana, the strong-willed daughter of Motunui who must cross the open ocean to restore prosperity to her people.
Along for the increasingly unpredictable voyage is Dwayne Johnson, reprising his role as the shape-shifting, tattoo-covered and forever self-impressed demigod Maui.
The animated world introduced in 2016 now expands into real coastlines, crashing waves, enormous creatures and a full-scale musical adventure built for the biggest screen possible.

Lagaʻaia steps into the title role with a version of Moana who retains the animated heroine’s curiosity, humor and determination while bringing a new physical presence to the voyage.
She answers a mysterious call from the Ocean and becomes the first person from Motunui in generations to travel beyond the protective reef surrounding her island.
Waiting beyond it are dangerous waters, impossible monsters and Maui, who remains completely certain that every adventure is improved by his entrance.
Johnson is not simply recreating Maui’s voice performance from the animated film. He now physically carries the demigod’s enormous frame, magical fishhook, moving tattoos and theatrical confidence into the live-action world.
The trailer revisits some of the story’s most recognizable moments while placing greater emphasis on the scale of the ocean itself.
Moana’s canoe appears tiny against towering waves and an endless horizon, reinforcing how much courage it takes for a teenager raised on one island to sail directly into a world her people were taught to fear.
The journey is not merely about adventure. Moana must restore the stolen heart of Te Fiti, repair an ancient imbalance and help her community remember that voyaging is part of its identity.
Returning characters include Moana’s father, Chief Tui, played by John Tui; her mother, Sina, played by Frankie Adams; and the wise Gramma Tala, played by Rena Owen.
There is also plenty of room for Pua, Heihei and the collection of creatures determined to make one already difficult ocean crossing even more chaotic.

The live-action reimagining is directed by Thomas Kail, the Emmy and Tony Award-winning director known for Hamilton.
Dwayne Johnson produces alongside Beau Flynn, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Auliʻi Cravalho, who originated Moana’s voice in the animated films, serves as an executive producer.
The film also brings new music from Miranda, Opetaia Foa‘i and Mark Mancina, extending the sound of Motunui while returning to the songs that made the original film a modern Disney favorite.
That means audiences can prepare for oceanic spectacle, enormous vocals and at least one demigod explaining why everyone should be thanking him.
Get into thee oceanic, follow the stars and sail the waves with Moana and Maui right below.
