Tamia is a Canadian R&B singer whose smooth, smoky voice has made her a consistent presence in contemporary soul since the mid-1990s. Born in Windsor, Ontario, she was introduced to a wide audience through Quincy Jones’ Q’s Jook Joint before releasing her self-titled debut in 1998. “So Into You,” “Stranger in My House,” “Officially Missing You,” “Still” and “Can’t Get Enough” became enduring R&B favorites, while later albums including Beautiful Surprise, Love Life and Passion Like Fire continued a catalog built on elegant phrasing and romantic songwriting.
