Aaliyah

Aaliyah was an American singer whose understated vocals, futuristic production and effortless cool helped push R&B into a new era during the 1990s and early 2000s. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Detroit, she debuted as a teenager before creating influential work with Timbaland, Missy Elliott and Static Major. One in a Million, the Romeo Must Die soundtrack and her self-titled final album continue to shape contemporary R&B and pop.
