Another One Bites The Dust, Unfortanutely.

Escada filed for bankruptcy in a Germany court this morning.

The label, which was jump started in 1978 had dropped significantly out of the current ‘must-wear designer’ threads for most actresses/models/artists.
Aside from the red asymmetrical gown Katherine Heigl wore to the Oscars sometime ago, and Naomi Watts yellow and black velvet piece(which I thought was forgettable) worn at the Golden Globes…Escada has seen little to none attention on any red-carpet in recent history.

According to Bloomberg, “the brand was once the largest women’s clothing brand in the world. Today, over 2,200 people will lose their jobs as a result of the bankruptcy and the company’s unlikely recovery.”
